As advised by the Teaching Council and agreed by the Department of Education, in the context of Covid-19, Council recognises the variety of teaching and learning environments in which Droichead can operate and that elements of Droichead can take place on-site or online.

New independent research has been commissioned into teachers’ experience of Droichead. This research, entitled the DEEPEN project, will inform the Teaching Council's review of Droichead in 2021. Schools have been invited to complete an online questionnaire. Please see here for further details.
NQTs must apply for Droichead via the ‘My Registration’ portal on www.teachingcouncil.ie and receive a confirmation email from the Teaching Council before registering for CM 1.
CM 1 is available to NQTs via our online learning platform https://onlinelearning.teacherinduction.ie
Cluster Meeting 1 will be available online only during Term 2 2021.
NIPT welcomes all NQTs engaging in the Droichead process 2020.2021.
We thank principals and PST members for the support they provide to their newest colleagues.
A suite of online workshops continues to be available to NQTs via the NIPT online learning platform https://onlinelearning.teacherinduction.ie/ - 3 Primary workshops; 3 Post-Primary workshops and 3 Cross-Sectoral workshops.
IEP for Pupils with SEN (NIPTWS15) for Primary NQTs and Transition from Primary to Post-Primary (NIPTWS12) for Post-Primary NQTs will be added to the suite and made available in February 2021.
Induction workshops are open to all NQTs to support their professional learning. While they are not a requirement of the Droichead process, many NQTs use them as an Additional Professional Learning Activity.
PST Training will continue to be delivered online for Term 2. NIPT RDOs are facilitating this professional development via the Zoom platform. Access to training will be subject to the application of necessary criteria to enable the Droichead process to happen for the maximum number of NQTs nationally.
